| Partial Transfer of Businesses of Non-ferrous Metals Subsidiaries | |
|
Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) has decided to transfer some of the non-ferrous metals-related businesses of two wholly owned subsidiaries, MC Non-Ferrous Metal Products Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Shoji Light Metal Sales Corporation, to another subsidiary, Kinsho Corporation. Details are as follows. MC handles a wide range of non-ferrous metals-related materials and products on a global scale. Operations extend from non-ferrous metal resources such as copper and aluminum to non-ferrous metal products, including aluminum products. These businesses are conducted by MC, its overseas offices and subsidiaries. As part of a business alliance between Kinsho and MC in non-ferrous metal materials and products, MC has decided to transfer some of the businesses of MC Group subsidiaries MC Non-Ferrous Metal Products and Mitsubishi Shoji Light Metal Sales to Kinsho. MC Non-Ferrous Metal Products and Kinsho trade in many of the same products. The former handles materials, including those for heat exchangers, particularly aluminum products, and other non-ferrous metal products. Furthermore, MC expects to derive synergies between the tin, lead and zinc ingot transactions of Mitsubishi Shoji Light Metal Sales and Kinsho. Looking ahead, by combining the management resources of these businesses
of MC Non-Ferrous Metal Products and Mitsubishi Shoji Light Metal Sales
with Kinsho, MC aims to achieve greater efficiency in the use of management
resources. Another goal of this business integration is to further strengthen
the distribution base of the MC Group so as to provide materials and
products with even higher added value to customers in the fields of
non-ferrous metal products and raw materials.
