SDK to Change Organization for Aluminum Sector

Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) has decided to change part of its aluminum sector organization as from August 1 to consolidate the functions of capital investment planning, design, construction, and maintenance so far carried out separately within the sector.

Through the organizational change in the aluminum sector, SDK intends to use its funds and human resources more effectively, while accelerating the speed of development and improving the technology.

Specifically, SDK will establish an engineering center, under which two new departments of technology and maintenance will be created. The existing aluminum production technology department will be abolished, and its functions will be transferred to the new engineering center.

The technology department and the maintenance department will respectively take over engineering- and maintenance-related functions of the existing aluminum technology center, business divisions, and two consolidated subsidiaries, namely, Showa Aluminum Can Corporation and Showa Denko Sakai Aluminum K.K.
